Τhe Program of Postgraduate Studies in Management and Organization of Educational Units of the Department of Organisations Management, Marketing and Tourism of the International Hellenic University is organising the 2nd International Congress on Management of Educational Units (ICOMEU2019), that will take place in Thessaloniki, Greece, at the Porto Palace Hotel, between the 29th of November and the 1st of December 2019. The overall congress theme is “Education- Civilization- Innovation at crossroads – The way ahead”.
Innovation is not just a term of the worlds of business and technology but of universities and educational units as well. The question still remains: what kind of people innovate? What kind of environment best supports them when they are putting forward their creative ideas? To answer questions like these there is a need for multidimensional analysis. The keyword is innovation by international and interdisciplinary collaboration in the context of Higher Level Education.
In order to obtain a more comprehensive view into :
1. Civilization as a product of education and experience,
2. The contribution of Educational Systems to civilization – level change,
3. Education innovation challenge in 2019
we will take under consideration all the above seemingly contradictory fields, trying to highlight the different sides of the same coin!
The congress will take place at Thessaloniki in Greece. Thessaloniki was named after the sister of Alexander the Great and is one of the oldest cities in Europe; a few years ago the city celebrated 2400 years since its establishment. Thessaloniki is a seaside port city, it has served as European Capital of Culture in 1997, and is well-known for its cosmopolitan style, rich gastronomic appeal, and vibrant night-life. The city has a rich culture and history influenced by the Hellenistic Greek, Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman eras.
The state-of-the-art Congress program includes: a) a high quality scientific research track with refereed paper presentations, b) cutting-edge keynote speakers and roundtables from the academia, and the public sector, c) a student paper presentations track and a PhD workshop.
